Goals of the event:
- Competition: All participants were invited to join a new Internet project Endotube.ru and place there some interesting unusual and educational endoscopic cases and had an unique opportunity to report these difficult clinical cases at the morning session "Morning Coffee with the experts' on July 2, 2011.
- Live demo: a unique cases of early GI cancer (esophagus, stomach and colon) were demonstrated during the master class of Professor Tohru Itoh (Kanazawa Medical University, Japan). All the patients were underwent the endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD).
- Lectures: the leading Russian experts in the field of gastroenterology and endoscopy shared their knowledge and experience on the most topical issues of modern medicine: GERD and Barrett's esophagus, the role of Helicobacter pylori infection in the development of precancerous diseases and stomach cancer, recent approaches to the choice of PPI, Maastricht IV, screening for colorectal cancer, the latest technology diagnosis of small and large intestine.
- ESD hands-on training: three days hands-on training were conducted on animal models (pig stomachs): ESD (endoscopic submucosal dissection) technique under the guidance of Professor T. Ito (Kanazawa, Japan).
